LRD have recently completed a 17,000m2 retail development for Mace Construction on the old Churnet Works industrial estate in Leek. The project consisted of 3 Industrial units, external yard areas and a new 5,300m2 Sainsburys super store. We have aslo secured the contract for the 3 future retail units also to be built at the site. The concrete slab was designed and built by LRD in several phases over the last 4 months.

The slabs are all pile supported, designed to be jointless panels and reinforced with steel fibres. Powerfloat finished, the slabs were completed in sections of around 800 – 1,500m2 per casting day resulting in a reduction in the build schedule of over 2 weeks!
